I like Aidan's work (there's more in my collection) but I was chiefly intrigued to set this album next to Noel Akchote's interpretations of Bach (also in my collection).
I wanted to see how two very different avant-garde guitarists would approach this task...how they would deconstruct and reinterpret such sublime music.
Well, I think the results are fascinating but, perhaps it would be best if you decided for yourselves (if that kind of process interests you). John Cratchley

Nadja aren't usually comfortable turning in a single song that lasts a mere 13 minutes, let alone 6! It still sounds like Nadja, but the normally glacial riffs are turned up to metal speeds - it's kind of... cute! To be honest it is still basically one 13 minute piece (just as many of their albums are basically one hour long track with several movements), but I enjoy the song titles so why not have more. Kudos to the band for tossing us this curveball, Simon Booth
