All the herbs have been smoked. Datashock deliver a new album: "Geltungsbereich Universum". Their second for Bureau B and the eighth in a career as an internationally active collective of musicians which has spanned two decades (so far). Space is the place, as the moonstruck sparrows sing from the rooftops, or is the Earth the most beautiful place in the universe? Some say yes, others no. Datashock say nothing at all.

mondsüchtigen Spatzen von den Dächern, oder ist die Erde doch
der schönste Platz im All? Die einen sagen so, die anderen so.
Datashock sagen gar nichts.

Auch im zwanzigsten Jahr ihres Bestehens lungern sie souverän
achselzuckend neben popkulturellen Allgemeinplätzen herum, auf denen die Bretter vorm Kopf die Welt bedeuten. Was geht, was geht nicht? Was soll"s! Ist das noch Krautrock, ist das Space Rock oder Experimentelle Musik und wo ist da der Unterschied oder ist das egal? Wichtig ist, dass was passiert, soviel steht fest. Und jetzt ist wieder was passiert. Eine neue Datashock Veröffentlichung: Geltungsbereich Universum. Natürlich, was denn sonst? Wo kämen sie hin, sich zu beschränken? Das war noch nie ihr Thema. Auch, wenn sie es wahrscheinlich, zumindest in diesem Jahr, nicht bis ins All schaffen werden, sie waren doch immerhin schon fast über-all und bleiben beharrlich bei der Sache; ihrer Sache. Aber was ist ihre Sache? Sollen das doch die anderen entscheiden. Aber wer sind die anderen? Die Kritik? This is your captain speaking, … your captain is dead. Mach" selbst die Ohren auf. Hör zu und nimm" dir die Zeit, die musikalischen Sphären – unendliche Weiten – Datashocks zu entdecken.

[Bureau B Subscription 008] [2020.04.17] [4 trs.] [45m18s] Now this is serious stuff. There aren't many albums like this one, so well crafted, with a great equilibrium between two evocative instrumental tracks (1 & 3) and two mesmerizing songs (2 & 4). All works like a charm! Solid and nuanced work, plenty of kosmische beauty and ambient, kraut splendor. Beware with the impressive Himmelfahrten piece, it's very addictive!!! Bravo! ★ I want my collection sorted!!! ★

[Bureau B Subscription 016] [Companion album to ophio (2023.02.24)] [2023.08.11] [3 trs.] [21m03s] The wonderful and haunting album ophio obtains an extension of his magic with a new track (Obus) and two mixes (The Hearth & In Wonnenhieben, two of the most prominent tracks from the album). The hypnotic sequenced track Obus leads us to two mixes who offers us a more calm and quiet atmosphere. The mix for In Wonnenhieben is very evocative and delicate.
